The Unexamined-Life Files is a group of question and answer sessions set up by myself and other site administrators with Wicked cast members. It’s a fun way to ask your favorite Broadway stars questions about being a professional actor, as well as life in general.
Here’s how the average Q&A will function:
After the new UL File page has been posted and the new cast member is announced, all members of the site will be able to submit questions to the star. On the page will be a link to the UL File Forum thread pertaining to that particular actor. Members can post any questions they have for the star in the thread. After about two weeks, question submitting will end and I will personally gather and format all of the questions. Please note, the actor with whom we are conducting the interview will not be reading your posts directly. Also, not all questions will be answered. I will gather all of the questions and send them to the actor, but with them agreeing to do the Q&A, I always give them the option to just answer whichever the questions they think are the most important and whatever amount of questions they have time for.
However, there are some guidelines for questions:
- All questions must be appropriate! Don’t ask anything rude or too personal.
- Try to stay sort of on topic pertaining to Wicked and acting. Randomness is alright, just keep it reasonable.
- Any member is allowed to submit an unlimited number of questions, but realize that everyone wants their questions answered, so don’t do too many.
- If you would like, you may precede your question with a short personal message telling the star how you enjoyed their performance, etc. Don’t make these love letters. They know you love them. Any excessive personal messages will be edited from the question.
- Have fun and ask great questions!
